Fugitive Mehul Choksi is in the custody of Belgian police in the Rs 13,500 crore loan fraud case of Punjab National Bank (PNB). India has requested the extradition of the wanted diamond merchant. The name of a woman is in discussion in the Choksi case. The name of this woman is Barbara Jabarica. She is a citizen of Hungary. Choksi alleges that Barbara Jabarica trapped him in a honey trap and was involved in the kidnapping attempt. According to Choksi's wife, the two met in the year 2020.

Choksi had alleged kidnapping
Mehul Chowksi fled from India to Antigua in January 2018, weeks before the PNB bank scam. Here he also acquired citizenship. In May 2021, he was seen in Dominica. Here he was arrested on charges of illegal entry. Mehul alleged that Indian agents kidnapped him. He was beaten and brought from Antigua to Dominica by boat. He also claimed that Hungarian citizen Barbara Jabarica was also involved in this entire episode.

Choksi says that Barbara befriended him by making an excuse. Just before kidnapping him, she called him for dinner. When he reached there, she forcibly took him with her. Choksi's wife Preeti had also alleged that Barbara trapped her husband in a honeytrap. But Barbara says that Mehul befriended her under the name 'Raj'. He was the one who asked for the mobile number.
